WINERY:
Passion
and a commitment to produce superb New Zealand wines has been the driving force
behind one of the country's great success stories. Since Thornbury's first
vintage in 1998, under the direction of the internationally acclaimed winemaker
and shareholder Steve Bird, it has enjoyed unprecedented success. One of the most
significant achievements of this still very young label is the fact that it
produced New Zealand's highest rated wine in the United States in 2001:
Thornbury Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2000, as judged by Wine Spectator
Magazine in its annual "Top 100 wines in USA for 2001".
