WINERY:
Passion and a commitment to produce superb New Zealand wines has been the driving force behind one of the country's great success stories. Since Thornbury's first vintage in 1998, under the direction of the internationally acclaimed winemaker and shareholder Steve Bird, it has enjoyed unprecedented success. One of the most significant achievements of this still very young label is the fact that it produced New Zealand's highest rated wine in the United States in 2001: Thornbury Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2000, as judged by Wine Spectator Magazine in its annual "Top 100 wines in USA for 2001".

MARLBOROUGH SAUVIGNON BLANC 2003

New Zealand Origin
Sauvignon blanc Grapes
This Sauvignon Blanc erupts from the glass with a barrage of perfumed floral aromas. There are hints of citrus blossom and passion fruit. The pallet is crisp, fresh and lively bursting with ripe fruit flavours of pink grape fruit, passion fruit and nectarines. While the pallet exhibits great weight and a luscious mouth feel it finishes with a wonderful clean crisp acid snap.

MARLBOROUGH PINOT NOIR 2004

Marlborough, New Zealand Origin
Pinot Noir Grapes
This Pinot Noir has excellent colour density and a deep red hue with purple evident at the edge of the glass. The nose is aromatic, showing lots of rich ripe berry fruits under-pinned with hints of earth and spices. The wine has incredible viscosity and a wonderfully fleshy mouth feel. There is plenty of fresh fruit and spices. The tannins are moderately firm and the acidity is perfectly balanced. The overall experience is a wine of considerable power and concentration. Description
